Although it has been anticipated for several years now, all signs suggest that South Korean automaker Kia is preparing to bring a midsize pickup truck to the North American market by 2030, either as a fully electric model or with a range extender.
Based on the Tasman concept unveiled several months ago, this vehicle would become a serious competitor to the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado, and Rivian R1T.
Kia believes it could sell about 90,000 units a year, which would help it reach its goal of marketing 1.02 million vehicles annually in the United States and capturing 7% of the midsize pickup segment by 2034.
