Ford to celebrate 60 years of the Transit

Although the Transit name only appeared in North America recently (replacing the Econoline and E-Series), the most popular Ford van has been around for 60 years in the rest of the world. Did you know that the Transit is Ford’s second best-selling vehicle, right after the F-Series pickups?

In the United Kingdom, where the Transit name has become legendary, it is the top-selling commercial vehicle. That’s why Ford will be hosting a major event to mark this 60th anniversary: the Transit Festival, which will take place at the Chelmsford City Racecourse in Sussex. The event will showcase the oldest surviving Transit alongside the latest electric versions of the model. Over the past 60 years, Ford has built more than 13 million Transits!
