It’s rare for such a situation to occur, but Swedish automaker Volvo recently informed its U.S. dealers that its smallest electric model, the XC30 — also offered in a Cross Country version — will no longer be available after the 2026 model year.
Ironically, the same vehicle will continue to be marketed in Canada and Mexico, both in its base version and in its Cross Country variant.
Although it was the most affordable model in the lineup in the United States, the XC30, assembled in Belgium, reportedly saw its sales decline significantly after an initially promising launch south of the border.
Its commercial life on the U.S. market will ultimately have lasted only one year.
