Something new is coming from Chrysler

Something new is coming from Chrysler

Those who believe the American Chrysler brand is on the way out may want to take a second look. Thanks to the arrival of a new platform developed by Stellantis, Chrysler's parent company, the brand's designers — who have so far been limited to the older platforms used for its minivans and the 300 sedan — will have more room to showcase their talent. This platform, called STLA One, will give them greater flexibility.

The first Chrysler vehicle to benefit from this innovation will be the Airflow, a midsize CUV. Unfortunately, the automaker has not provided a specific launch date for this new model.

However, Stellantis executives say that half of the group's global production will come from three platforms, including STLA One, while STLA Small and STLA Medium will be phased out.

That latest information comes from Ralph Gilles, Stellantis's global head of design and a native of Montreal.
