Jaguar Gives Its Prototype a Name

The enigmatic Jaguar that can still only be seen as a camouflaged test mule has now been given the official name it will carry at launch: Type 01. The name was chosen first to represent zero emissions, and then to identify the first model in this new family of vehicles.
The car will be a large fully electric four-door vehicle, with styling that will have nothing in common with the brand's familiar silhouette, something that Jaguar enthusiasts have not yet embraced.
Incidentally, if development of the vehicle has taken so long, it is partly because of a cyberattack that recently dealt a major blow to Jaguar Land Rover.
From a technology standpoint, all we know so far is that the Type 01 will use Jaguar's tri-motor EV technology, which is expected to deliver 985 horsepower and 959 lb-ft of torque.
