Those involved in auto racing during the 1980s, 1990s, and beyond will likely remember specialized mechanic Terry Maxwell, better known by his nickname Zeke. Still active in the field, Terry has just published a little-known — and often forgotten — chapter of Quebec’s automotive history: his adventure with SLP Canada in Montreal, where, under his leadership, Camaros were transformed into SS models (as well as Firebird Firehawks and other specialty vehicles).
Although fluent in French, Terry chose to write the book in English, a language considered more marketable in this field across North America. This substantial 336-page book includes over 500 original photos, most of them taken by Terry himself.
The book is available exclusively through Terry Maxwell, by email only at
This book is essential for any collector of specialized volumes, anyone interested in automotive history in Quebec, or enthusiasts of Camaro and Firebird models “made in Quebec.”
