Nissan has a new CEO

nissan-has-a-new-ceo

As of April 1st (and this is no April Fool’s joke), Japanese automaker Nissan will have a new CEO, Ivan Espinosa, currently the company's head of planning.

He will succeed Makoto Uchida, who has been criticized for failing to secure a deal with Honda. Uchida, however, only has good things to say about his successor, whom he describes as [traduction] "a true car guy"!

Espinosa, who has been with Nissan since 2003, will face a significant challenge: finding a new partner in hopes of turning the company around. Nissan's production forecast stands at approximately 3.4 million units, with a slim profit margin of just 1% for the coming year.
