Toyota announces production plans

According to the specialized publication Automotive News, the American division of the Japanese automaker Toyota is currently consolidating its U.S. electric vehicle production at its massive assembly complex in Georgetown, Kentucky.
At the same time, Automotive News reports that Toyota will be increasing production of its popular Grand Highlander SUV in Indiana. These changes were announced last week to employees at the Princeton, Indiana, and Georgetown plants. Toyota has already revealed plans to produce a new three-row electric vehicle in Indiana, along with a second similar model in Georgetown, alongside a Subaru-branded version of the vehicle. The batteries will be sourced from the new battery manufacturing facility currently under construction in North Carolina, a project valued at US$13.9 billion.
