Ford has just unveiled a Tremor version of its popular Explorer SUV for the year 2026. Although the Tremor name has previously been used on other Ford trucks, this is the first time it has been applied to the Explorer SUV. In fact, the Tremor name replaces Timberline, previously used on the Explorer and Expedition. This new variant has been created specifically to compete against the Chevrolet Traverse Z71 and GMC Acadia AT4.
As standard, the Explorer Tremor will come equipped with a 2.3-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine delivering 300 horsepower, on the other hand, Ford will offer the 3.0-litre EcoBoost V6 with the Explorer ST, as an option.
The suspension has obviously been revised, including upgraded anti-roll bars and springs, as well as 18-inch wheels fitted with specific off-road tires. Additionally, the Explorer Tremor features a Torsen limited-slip rear differential. Pricing details will be revealed upon its market launch.
