Despite declining interest from many consumers in electric vehicles, German automaker BMW continues to pursue this direction. Recently, it unveiled a prototype of its fully electric iM3 model. This vehicle would be based on a platform similar to that of the same model equipped with an internal combustion engine.
Known as the EV M3, this performance-oriented vehicle would feature four electric motors—one at each wheel—using an 800-volt architecture. The system would be managed by the Heart of Joy software, capable of controlling power and torque delivery to each wheel as needed. While BMW remains tight-lipped about further details, the manufacturer has confirmed that a vehicle based on this configuration is expected to reach the market as early as 2027.
