Stellantis Discontinues its Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles

In a surprise announcement, global automaker Stellantis confirmed that it is ending production of its plug-in hybrid vehicles. This decision comes despite the company’s notable success with several plug-in hybrid models, including the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, and especially the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan.

These vehicles are expected to be replaced by fully hybrid or extended-range versions. It should be noted, however, that some of these plug-in hybrid models have been subject to repeated recalls. Despite this strategic shift, most upcoming hybrid vehicles will nevertheless retain the 4xe designation.
