Tesla launches its Robotaxi… with a few hiccups

tesla-launches-its-robotaxi-with-a-few-hiccups

At the end of June, American automaker Tesla tested its first Robotaxi models with passengers in Austin, Texas. These passengers included Tesla investors and social media influencers. While most vehicles performed flawlessly, a few experienced driving errors that will force Tesla's engineers back to the drawing board. One robotaxi (obviously driverless) reportedly braked without a reason, another ended up facing oncoming traffic after missing a turn, and two others failed during parking maneuvers.

It should be noted that human copilots were present in these vehicles, some of which could be remotely controlled. However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk intends to continue testing without human assistance. He believes robotaxi technology will eventually generate more profit than Tesla’s vehicle sales.
