Volvo Recalls its Design Chief

volvo-recalls-its-design-chief

As ironic as it may seem, Swedish automaker Volvo Cars has decided to bring back the man who designed what could be considered one of the greatest successes in the brand’s history: the current XC60—Thomas Ingenlath. This move comes nearly ten years after he left the company.

As a result, Ingenlath, now almost a legend at 61 years of age, will return as head of design effective February 1, 2026. His mandate will be to create a smoother and more sophisticated interaction between the automobile and its occupants in the digital era. Ingenlath will sit alongside the company’s CEO, Håkan Samuelsson, bringing the board of directors to a total of nine members.
