Despite a 2.3% decline in passenger car sales in Canada, the Honda Civic once again ranks first in overall car sales, even as consumers increasingly turn to SUVs, CUVs and pickup trucks.
Some 31,054 units of this model found buyers across the country in 2025, compared to 31,774 units in 2024, according to statistics published by Automotive News Canada. This marks the 26th time in the past 28 years that the Civic has held the top position.
These results once again allow it to outperform the Toyota Corolla, whose sales reached 25,105 units in 2025, down 3.4% from the previous year. The Hyundai Elantra (+18.7%), Volkswagen Jetta (+34.7%) and Mazda3 (+36.8%) round out the top five best-selling cars in the country in 2025.
