Our mission
GAA was created in 1978 by the government at the time of the reform of Québec’s automobile insurance plan. Our mission is to guarantee access to auto insurance, streamline claims settlement, ensure rates are fair and inform consumers. GAA also oversees automobile damage appraisers in Québec. All auto insurers that do business in Québec are members of the GAA.

Our mandate in appraisal
GAA is responsible for ensuring that the persons acting as appraisers are qualified.
For that purpose, it shall establish and administer training programs and determine the minimum requirements applicable to the activity of appraiser.
GAA has an experienced team of experts and quality controllers in automobile damage appraisal and heavy vehicles and equipment.
