MARIE-CLAUDE TREMBLAY, A TEACHER ON THE ÉMEMM MANAGEMENT TEAM
(Article published in L’Automobile magazine, April 2023)

After a break from the professional world for a maternity leave that allowed her to devote herself to her family life, Marie-Claude Tremblay was hired in July 2022 by the École des métiers de l’équipement motorisé de Montréal (ÉMEMM) as Assistant Director.
Her track record spoke for itself: a teacher with an impressive career and proven human resource management skills.
Her priority is to ensure that students have the best possible conditions to succeed. In order to achieve this goal, she supports teachers by providing them with all the necessary tools. The stakes are high, as applications for enrolment at ÉMEMM are booming, particularly in automotive mechanics and hybrid and electric vehicles.
The Diploma of Vocational Studies has the advantage of giving access to the job market in less than a year and a half, or 1,800 hours. In these times of labour scarcity, students may be motivated by their ability to earn a diploma so quickly, a fact confirmed by the Québec government’s hard-hitting media advertising.
Marie-Claude adds that “today, a passion for mechanics is no longer the prerogative of men, with women increasingly taking up positions as technicians in maintenance and repair shops. There are even management positions, like mine, that would be of interest to those with an entrepreneurial streak in them.”
